US aviation giant Boeing has announced it is donating $1 million (£812,600) to the inauguration fund for President-elect Donald Trump, according to BBC News.

Google and Microsoft have also confirmed similar contributions, joining a growing list of major American companies supporting the fund. This list includes oil producer Chevron and tech giants Meta, Amazon, and Uber.

Trump's inauguration, marking the beginning of his second term in the White House, is scheduled for January 20.

Boeing expressed its pride in continuing its bipartisan tradition of supporting US Presidential Inaugural Committees. The company noted it had made similar donations to the past three presidential inauguration funds.

Boeing is working to recover from a safety and quality control crisis and losses due to a strike last year. Additionally, the company is building the next presidential aircraft, Air Force One. The two jets are expected to enter service as early as next year. During his first term, Trump had pressured Boeing to renegotiate its contract, deeming the initial deal too costly.

Google recently joined other major tech firms, such as Meta and Amazon, in donating to the fund. The company also announced that it will stream the event globally. "Google is pleased to support the 2025 inauguration with a livestream on YouTube and a direct link on our homepage," said Karan Bhatia, Google's global head of government affairs and public policy.

Car manufacturers Ford, General Motors, and Toyota have also donated $1 million each to the inauguration fund.

In the energy sector, Chevron confirmed its donation but did not disclose the amount. "Chevron has a long tradition of celebrating democracy by supporting the inaugural committees of both parties. We are proud to be doing so again this year," stated Bill Turene, Chevron’s manager of global media relations.
