Several school districts across West Michigan have announced school closings for Thursday due to winter weather conditions. Districts including Grand Haven Area Public Schools, West Ottawa Public Schools, Allegan Public Schools, Zeeland Public Schools, North Muskegon Public Schools, and many others have canceled classes.
Meteorologists are predicting cold temperatures, strong winds, and 1 to 4 inches of snow overnight Wednesday. Thursday morning will bring bitterly cold feels-like temperatures ranging from -5 to 10 degrees, with most of West Michigan expected to see 2 to 6 inches of snow by Thursday evening. The lakeshore area, from Allegan County north, is under winter storm warnings, while other counties are facing winter weather advisories through Thursday evening.
These school closing predictions come as the region braces for challenging weather conditions.
