Bluey: The Ultimate Family Adventure – A Heartwarming Journey of Play, Imagination, and Fun

The Walt Disney Company and BBC Studios have officially announced an exciting new project: a feature film based on the beloved Australian animated series Bluey. The film is set to hit theaters in 2027 and will continue the heartwarming adventures of Bluey, the playful and energetic blue heeler pup, along with her family — Mum, Dad, and younger sister Bingo. This CGI-animated movie will be written and directed by Joe Brumm, the original creator of the Bluey series. The voice cast will feature familiar stars from the show, including Melanie Zanetti and David McCormack, who voice Mum and Dad.

In a statement, Brumm expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming project. “I’ve always thought Bluey deserved a theatrical movie,” he said. “I want this to be an experiential event for the whole family to enjoy together.” His vision highlights the show's core appeal: relatable, heartfelt storytelling that resonates with viewers of all ages.

Since its debut in 2018, Bluey has grown from an Australian favorite into a global phenomenon. The show has captured the hearts of audiences worldwide with its touching themes of play, imagination, and familial bonds. In 2024, it was named the most-watched series globally on Disney+, further cementing its success.

Dana Walden and Alan Bergman, Disney Entertainment co-chairs, praised the series' impact: “Since its debut on Disney Jr. and Disney+, Bluey has become a global phenomenon, uniting families everywhere with its heartfelt stories of play, imagination, and connection.”

The Bluey movie promises to bring these cherished themes to the big screen, offering an immersive experience for longtime fans and newcomers alike. With Joe Brumm at the helm, families can look forward to an unforgettable cinematic journey in 2027.
